In the audio conversation, Wetang'ula dropped the names of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga to assure a Dubai gold investor believed to be Ali Zandi that their detained consignment would be released. It is believed that Zandi was the person who telephoned Wetang'ula. The date of the call has not been established. Wetang'ula did not respond to repeated inquiries on Friday by the Star. Government of Kenya earlier this year introduced a new identification number despite having existing national identity card and passport as official documents.  Up to now the government has not been able to fully explain why it's a must for it's citizens to register for the number despite the contrary ruling by the court. Registration deadline Huduma Namba registration deadline date was set for tomorrow 18th May 2019 but  President Uhuru Kenyatta today has directed the National Inter-ministerial Committee to extend Huduma Namba mass registration period for one week; to close on Saturday, 25th May 2019.

Judge David Majanja David Majanja to Rep Judges and Magistrates The Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association elected High Court judge David Shikomera Majanja as its male representative to the Judicial Service Commission in February this year and since then his name had not been gazetted until today when senior counsel Ahmednasir raised the issue on his Twitter. He said "Justice David Majanja was elected to the JSC in February to represent judges and Magistrates. He hasn't been gazetted todate...in the Animal Farm called Kenya, the CHICKEN from Western is inferior to the PIG from Central Kenya". The cost of fuel has gone up again in this month's review by the regulator, with a litre of petrol rising by Ksh 5.43 to Ksh 112.03 in Nairobi. Diesel prices went up by Ksh 2.24 to Ksh 104.37 while kerosene users will pay Ksh 104.62, Ksh 2.40 more than last month, according the latest review by the Energy Regulatory Commission. Mr Macharia Njeru LSK male representative Macharia Njeru to serve JSC for 5 years. President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed LSK male representative Macharia Njeru as a member of the Judicial Service Commission for a period of 5 years. Formerly Njeru worked as the IPOA Boss where he saw many policing regulations and amedments done in line with ensuring that police officers relate well with the members of the public. The Government has since approved the regulations that has seen Regular Police and the Administration Police units merged under one top command. The officers have also been allowed to live away from various camps and join members of public in residential estates aimed at promoting better police-public relationship.
