Stop Militarizing Education Ministry, CS Magoha told

Stop attracting too many wars with Teachers and stakeholders.

Manyatta MP John Muchiri has told Education CS Magoha to stop operating the ministry like a military camp.

Curriculum Development

The MP asked CS Magoha to allow all stakeholders to give their input since the curriculum change will be for all us and not for individual purpose. This comes as the stalemate between CS Magoha and the teacher's union KNUT continues to widen. Muchiri said "Most of the school we have in Kenya are Church sponsored and it would be wise for the Education Ministry to involve even the sponsors in the curriculum change".

No More Bursaries

Manyatta MP John Muchiri opposed the planned move by the ministry of education to stop the commonly known CDF bursary to needy day secondary school students. He said that the move was ill advised since it will attract high number of school drop outs. The ministry of education has proposed that beginning next year the CDF bursary should only be allocated to students in Boarding secondary schools alone. He added that the ministry capitation money is always sent to schools when it's too late and never enough, this has made it difficult for school principals to run the instructions.

Motivation

"I have and will always reward the schools performing best in my constituency and this year am delivering Three 61 seater buses to 3 day secondary schools who have been performing wekw within the constituency". Muchiri said when he was addressing over 100 school principals from his constituency during the issuance of this year's bursary cheques for needy students. A total of Ksh 27,260,200 worth cheques were issued by the MP to schools head.
