The Embu handshake

Governor Martin Wambora, Assembly Speaker Josiah Thiriku, Deputy Governor David Kariuki, Members of the County Executive Committee, County Chief Officers, Directors the Embu County Public Service Board and all MCAs held a strategic breakfast meeting at County Assembly offices.

 The meeting that was geared towards building synergy between the Legislature and the Executive arms of County Government presented an opportunity for leaders from both sides to share ideas on how best to work together in drafting and implementing the 2019/2020 Financial Year’s budget in a bid to achieve more development for the Embu populace.

 The Speaker, together with MCAs pledged to give the County Executive support by enacting laws and adopting policies that would provide a legal framework to spar faster economic development. The Assembly also called for more efficient implementation of projects and proposed a raft of suggestions to ensure prudent utilisation of public funds.

 The Governor, on the other hand, welcomed the gesture of cooperation and vowed to rally the County Executive in building a better working relationship with the Assembly in the remaining part of his tenure.

 The initiative is part of a series of several other meetings planned to foster a better working relationship between the two arms of County Government.
This comes days after the county leadership met H.E Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen home on development agenda.
